CrossFit Vital Athlete Highlight

Jeanna is one of the OG’s at CFV, she always comes ready to work and work she does.  Jeanna is the type of person that is pushing herself everyday in the box. I  am truly happy that she walked in the doors ready to change her life. Here are a few things that you may have not know about one of your fellow athletes.

 

1) Where are you from and what brought you to tulsa?
I am originally from Spring, Texas (Houston area) and moved to Tulsa from Fort Worth, Texas for my job with Halliburton.
2) What got you into CrossFit?
I saw a Groupon for the box last January and my first day was January 12th, 2013 so I am coming up on my one year anniversary. I have never looked back!
3) What motivates you in CrossFit?
I like the camaraderie of CrossFit. I also like the olympic lifts and feeling strong! I really enjoy seeing people’s progress!! I write down everything in my WOD book and I have enjoyed tracking progress that way.
4) What other physical activities do you do outside of X-Fit ( running, swimming, biking etc……)
Since starting CrossFit, I have gotten into running. I like long distance running. This year I ran a 10 mile race, a half marathon, a handful of 5K’s, and a Tough Mudder, all thanks to my training with CrossFit!
5) What is your Favorite X-Fit movement, what is your least fav. Xfit movement?
Favorite would be anything involving the barbell and least favorite would be double unders and pull-ups! I enjoy partner/team WOD’s the most.
6) What is your favorite cheat meal?
I’m pretty obsessed with Jimmy John’s…Italian night club with Jalepeno chips!!!!
7) What did you do over the Holiday Break, and what was your favorite Christmas gift?
I came home to Texas to visit family and friends. My favorite gift was my CrockPot…which I will be cooking paleo meals in when I return to Tulsa! I’m ready for another nutrition challenge!!
8) What is your 2014 CrossFit goal?
I would like to PR more lifts and work on my goats more (DU’s, pull-ups, etc.). I would also like to work on pushing my endurance and getting faster during WOD’s, or as PH says “driving that intensity”. I also want to try running to the box from my house and running home.
9) Favorite Food and why?
Pizza, does this need an explanation?!?!
10) What is one thing you would like us to know about you?
For the first 6 months that I lived in Tulsa, I hated it, because I was out of shape and didn’t know very many people. Ever since I started at Crossfit Vital I have made a lot of new friends and am probably in the best shape of my life now! Thank you to PH and everyone else at the box for making me feel at home!
